Rescue Dogs are dogs of all ages and breeds that were taken out of a homeless situation and put into a safe home. Irresponsible owners might abandon their dog or deny their dog proper care. Other owners might be responsible, but choose not to keep their dog; reasons could include family issues, economic circumstances, allergies, job relocation, lack of interest, and the list goes on...There are so many places to find rescue dogs: online (FosterDogsNYC), animal shelters, rescue groups (for mixed-breeds and purebred dogs) and in foster care. After overcoming skin mites, Giardia and worms, little Ozzie has become a true delight.After one month of fostering, Mike decided to make this partnership official - he adopted Ozzie in May 2011, and we wish them a lifetime of love!

Sarah runs the popular website FosterDogsNYC.com, promoting adoption and foster care.Sarah trained her rescue dog to become a Canine Good Citizen and TDI-Certified Therapy Dog. She volunteers at her local shelter while earning her Master’s Degree in Elementary Education. She has chaired several dog fundraiser events, and frequents adoption events in CT and NYC. Based on specific criteria, you will work with Sarah to choose the right dog. It’s about how well the dog’s personality works with yours.
